Animated Isometric Ocean Waves
Inkscape Tutorial
Another request from a reader of the blog – how to do ocean waves in Inkscape in an isometric view?
It had me puzzled for a moment but sparked the curiosity right away. Isometric views have their unique challenges. It’s not a real world view as the the projection has no points of perspective. This view makes it hard to add animation, especially to characters or animals due to the number of directions needed.
I think I found an approach that rather easy to follow. Hopefully, it also makes for a helpful tutorial.
I hope this video does help with the creation of isometric elements in general and isometric waves in particular. Have a look at the earlier tutorials on isometric creations here.

I don't think I've ever tried making isometric elements, now I can't wait to try this! Great tutorial as always!
Thanks… I will try and record the basics isometric tutorial as a video as well – there is a similar one on youtube but it would be nice to revisit the old step-by-step tutorial and update it.
Great job !!!!!
