Inkscape Video Tutorials – Shapebuilder
In these videos, I will go through the basics of the new shapebuilder tool in Inkscape v1.3. Once you get your head around it, it’s helpful and pretty straightforward. Even as someone very critical of the process of creating elaborate grids rather than the basic shapes, I have to admit that the shapebuilder is one of the great additions to Inkscape.
In this video I will be working with six different and simple designs to show you the basics of the tools, the do’s, and [some of] the don’t. I will show the two selection modes ‘Add‘ and ‘Delete‘ with these sample designs. In the end, I will go into some of the problems when working with the shapebuilder.
In this video, I will show you how to use basic geometric grids with the shape builder tool.
This video shows the use of the geometric grids I designed for an easy entry into Shapebuilder. Open a grid from the SVG files, duplicate the base group [in order to keep the base shapes as they get lost in the shape-building process], and get creative with the tool.
